SAN FRANCISCO

Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, Nob Hill, Haight Ashbury, The Mission, Golden Gate Park, The Sutro Baths, Hyde Street... The city of hills is lovely to visit, even with it's distinct topography! Thanks to Matt for being our guide! San Francisco is definitely one of our favorite cities.
Next stop: New York!

LAST MILE TO SANTA MONICA, LOS ANGELES

And we've done it!! After a scratched bumper and a cracked windshield, Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica is officially over. 2448 miles + detours to Santa Fe, the Canyons and Las Vegas!! The last few hundred miles of desert (more than 4000 km) and very few gas stations makes the palm trees and Pacific Ocean feel like a mirage.
But the trip is not over! Now we head off to San Diego and then up Highway 1 to discover the coast of California all the way to San Francisco!

250 miles desert ahead

LAS VEGAS

It's Paris, Venice, Cairo, Rome, New York... Not only is the Strip an attraction, the interior of each resort is as well. A massive labyrinth of shops, restaurants, casinos, shows... each different and following a theme. A huge amusement park disconnected from reality! Everything seems permitted here.

Post Scriptum: We went to see the show "O" from Cirque du Soleil and would seriously recommend it to anyone! It was jaw-dropping! The set, the acrobats, the music... all of it was beautiful!

ZION NATIONAL PARK, UTAH

Our hike to the lower, middle and upper pools was absolutely beautiful. Again, such different landscape from the previous canyons. The US continues to surprise us...
