Arrived in the Grand Canyons at last! The scenery is spectacular! The enormity of it all makes it hard to understand the scale... Tricked by this, we started a steep hike down to the first stop and realised only when hiking back up in the 40°C sun (practically no shade on the trail) how big the canyons actually are.. It took us 3 hours for a 400m difference in elevation (800m down and up)! During the whole hike the scenery seems more like a painting than reality.

What a spectacular sight - awe inspring! Hope you didn't have to climb all the up or down!!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't go all the way down to the Colorado River (1 mile in height - a 2 day hike) but we hiked for 3 hours (down and up!)!! No need to tell you that my legs are still killing me right now ;)
