SOUTH KAIBAB TRAIL, GRAND CANYON

Arrived in the Grand Canyons at last! The scenery is spectacular! The enormity of it all makes it hard to understand the scale... Tricked by this, we started a steep hike down to the first stop and realised only when hiking back up in the 40°C sun (practically no shade on the trail) how big the canyons actually are.. It took us 3 hours for a 400m difference in elevation (800m down and up)! During the whole hike the scenery seems more like a painting than reality.

  2. We didn't go all the way down to the Colorado River (1 mile in height - a 2 day hike) but we hiked for 3 hours (down and up!)!! No need to tell you that my legs are still killing me right now ;)
